I may sound like Captain Obvious by saying that both the maternity and newborn sessions are unique, once-in-a-lifetime experiences that should be celebrated and documented. But what may not be so obvious in the present is what these photos will mean to you and your family as the years go by.
I have been a Seattle maternity and newborn photographer for over 15 years. During this time, I have seen some families only book maternity sessions while others opt only for newborn photos. Of course, there are many reasons for this, from budget considerations to thinking you may not like yourself in maternity photos to pure logistical issues like not booking a session in time.
I hear countless stories of moms regretting capturing only one of the milestones and wishing they could turn back time. I also hear many happy and satisfied stories from parents who got both the maternity and newborn sessions and what these photos mean to them now.

- Up to 3 hours of shooting time (of course, we are not shooting the entire time – we will spend as much time as necessary feeding and changing the baby or waiting for them to be in the right mood)
- 20 hand-edited images that you pick from a gallery of 80–100 photos
- Additional hand-edited photos available à la carte
- Access to all my props, headbands, wraps, bonnets, etc.
- Posed photos of the baby with props, a variety of natural parent, sibling, and family shots with the baby; the number of poses and looks will depend on how the baby responds to being posed

1. Sample Photos: Maternity Session at Seattle Discovery Park
The maternity session in this package was shot during the fall at Seattle Discovery Park, with the newborn session taking place in my Redmond studio. The Seattle Discovery Park offers beautiful grass fields and lots of open space for a variety of looks. It is available year-round.

2. Sample Photos: Maternity Session at Mukilteo Beach
This family’s maternity session was shot during the summer at Mukilteo Beach, and the newborn session was done in my Redmond studio. This location is a great option if you want your maternity session at a beach. I recommend having your photoshoot during summer and early fall for milder weather at this location.
3. Sample Photos: Maternity Session at Snoqualmie River
The maternity session in this bundle was shot during the spring at Snoqualmie River, with the newborn session taking place in my Redmond studio. The Snoqualmie River location offers a unique PNW backdrop and a variety of looks for your maternity photos. I usually shoot at this location from late spring to early fall.

4. Sample Photos: Maternity Session at Rattlesnake Lake
This couple’s maternity session was shot during the winter at Rattlesnake Lake. This location offers stunning PNW views of mountains, trees, and a lake. It is available all year long and is easily accessible during winter. However, it takes about 40 minutes to travel from Seattle to Bellevue. 5. Sample Photos: Maternity Session at a Redmond Park
This maternity session was shot during summer in a beautiful Redmond park. This could be a great option if you live on the Eastside and want a local session. I shoot at this particular park during late spring and summer. However, I have additional Redmond locations that are available year-round.
Pricing and Booking Process
I designed the entire experience of both sessions to be enjoyable, relaxing, and fun. I’ll guide you through every step to create photos you love and cherish.
Pricing:
- Total Package Price: $1,900 +tax ($200 savings compared to booking the two services separately)
- Deposit: A $100 deposit is required to book your session
- 1st Payment: $750 +tax due at the time of your maternity session
- 2nd Payment: $1,050 +tax due at the time of your newborn session (additional hand-edited images: +$20/each)
- Optional add-ons for the maternity session: additional hand-edited images: $20/each; full gallery upgrade with standard edit: $200
- Optional add-ons for the newborn session: additional hand-edited images: $20/each; all the natural family shots with standard edit: $200
Booking process:
To book your package, you’ll start by picking the date for your maternity session from my calendar. The ideal time for your maternity photoshoot is when you are between 28 and 32 weeks pregnant, but I am happy to work around your schedule. I recommend booking at least a month in advance to give yourself time to prepare. You’ll pick the location for your maternity session after you book your session.
When booking, you will also provide your due date, which I will use to pencil you in, ensuring you have a spot. Once your baby is born, we will pick an actual shoot date (typically five days to three weeks after birth).

FAQs
When is the best time to have a maternity session?
The ideal time for your maternity shoot is when you are between 28 and 32 weeks pregnant, but I am happy to work around your schedule.
Do you provide a client wardrobe for a maternity session?
At this time, I do not offer a client wardrobe. However, once you book your session, I will send you a prep guide with recommendations on where you can rent or purchase high-quality gowns.
We are not good at taking pictures; will you guide us?
I will direct and guide you the entire time, so you don’t have to worry about anything.
What happens if my baby comes early or late?
When you schedule your Maternity + Newborn Package, I will pencil you in for your due date. Because babies come on their own schedule, we will pick an actual shoot date once your baby is born (typically five days to three weeks after birth).
Color edit vs. hand-edit: what’s the difference?
Color (standard) editing includes an overall color adjustment to make the photos appear brighter, more colorful, and properly exposed.
Hand-editing includes basic skin smoothing, removal of blemishes, bruises, and a few fly-aways, as well as more detailed color adjustments. It gives your photos a more “polished” feel.
Both the Maternity Deluxe and Newborn Deluxe sessions include 20 hand-edited photos. Additional hand-edited photos could be purchased à la carte after you see your proof gallery.
When and how will I get my images?
You will receive your online proof gallery within four days after your session. Seven days after you submit your selections, your hand-edited images will be delivered via an online gallery.
